Quoth the Slender-Men:
“…..”
Kith Excerpt:
Names are especially nebulous tools when interacting with the Dreaming world. They can empower or limit, define or destroy. This is especially true amongst the Denizens, who by their very nature are alien in mindset and nigh impossible to comprehend in a mortal understanding of Names. There is one special family of Adhene that can’t be limited by name. They can only be referenced in the fragmentary moments that mortals might espy them. This family defies the conventions of naming in the distant annals of the dreaming. When witnessed in the world of men, no two mortals understand them the same way. They may appear as an Other-Mother. Perhaps they appear as a happy dancing Clown in a sewer. Just maybe they seem as a tall faceless-Man. Yet these are just three examples of these maddeningly other creatures. These beings suckle on dark emotions, leaving nothing save fear and madness in their destructive wake.

“There once was a creature known as ‘IT’ which no person could describe properly… They could not tell whether IT was alive or not; nor could they describe IT’s appearance. IT looked different in the eyes of each.” – Jessie Saxby, Shetland Traditional Lore
“The names are the first things to go, after the breath has gone, and the beating of the heart.”
― Neil Gaiman, Coraline
